Ok all Adelaide Hammers we are going to go for a meetup on the 15th November against Portsmouth. Unfortunately due to other committments we cannot get out any earlier but this one should be a cracking game and as we are the home team would like to think that we could get a favourable result. We meet at the Rosemont Hotel, Hindley Street, and Kaye and myself will be there from about midnight (probably from about ten knowing me ) Kickoff is at 1.30am,now we realise that this is really early but it is the Hammers and i have always found that watching it with other fans just seems to enhance the game (regardless of the result). So please try to get out for this one (at least its a Saturday night). Please take the time to post on here if you think you might be able to make it,Emails will follow in due course for all those on our list. Cheers Paul and Kaye Adelaide Hammers

Well another unsuccessful meetup Kaye, Myself and Mark, our bloody venue wasnt going to show our game just to top it off (then Kaye got involved),yep they showed it alright. Had all this douce douce music blaring in the background didnt stop until half way through 2nd half am going to have to do a rethink about all this, it costs us a fortune to keep doing this just to be the only ones there ALL the time,we also could just sit at home and watch it. Come on you Adelaide Hammers tell us what you want, is it the Venue or the time?Brissy still get a good turnout and they dont kickoff till 1am.Please give us some feedback so we can get something tangable happening or should we just give it all a miss. Do so want this to work but am very disillusioned at the moment.

Don't blame you mate, pretty soul destroying. It is hard no doubt about it. You guys definitely deserve for this to work with all the effort you've put in. Fuck me Adelaide, where are your balls, in your purse! FFS, Paul and Kaye are doing all they can to make this work and it's a constant kick in the guts. You don't have to go all the time just once and a while. TBH I love catching up and watching the game with other WH nutters, how could you not, but I live miles away from the meet so I pick and choose which games to attend and go when I can. There's no excuse I work, got kids, commitments, blah, blah, blah, get into it.
Keep calm and carry on.

We have sent out an email to all our contacts and as of tonight have had 1 reply ,im just disappointed that we cant seem to get numbers out yes our form hasnt been great yes its a 1.30 kickoff but it is normally about once a month ans do so much prefer to watch it with other Hammers fans. Its a time when we can sit have a beer and talk all things WESTHAM FACE TO FACE,oh well might be just me. Just want to know where everyone stands thats all. Oh yes Dave you should be a DIPLOMAT mate, perspective please you are getting ten (on a bad night) im lucky to get TWO (on a good night).

First of all, that was probably the worst experience i have had at the Rosemont. The music in particular was a massive downer. I can deal with no commentary, i can deal with overpriced beer, etc, but to listen to that garbage for like 2 hours was mighty frustrating.
That rant over, i think your in a tough spot here Paul. People were notified about 6 weeks in advance about the Pompey game and i gotta admit i was a little disappointed that i drove into town just for the game to be the only one beside you and Kaye, (was tired beforehand as well) granted this was my first game this season that i have been to.
I dunno what the general age of the people who have been and where they live but i don't think once a month is too much of an ask regardless, to be honest. There is nothing you can do about the time, if people wanted to watch the game with other fans then they would come. Venue isn't an issue for me. I would go to any place to watch a game and don't think that that is a major factor in the lack of numbers.
I guess what i am saying is your not the problem. I think you have done all you can to get a base of supporters together. You probably have 2 options, keep doing what you are doing and hope that people begin attending or stop with all the trouble and save yourself some time and money. Part of the problem is the mixed bag you get. One match like 5-6 people show up and you start thinking well looks like all our efforts are beginning to pay off, then next game no one comes. Must be really frustrating.
I would definitely come and watch games with you in the future, and despite the fact that I'm probably the last person to get overly vocal watching a game, it would be nice to watch a few games a season with some other fans for a bit of atmosphere.

The thing is, Kaye and Paul, and I mean this with all due respect, it would be one of my lowest priorities to come out.
I wasn't able to come to the Pompey game due to uni exams being on and I didn't want to be wrecked for the Sunday of not studying. Being a youngster, most people organise things to be on a Saturday night when our meetup's are, and, again with all due respect (good old The Bill) I would rather meet up with people I've known for a long time than say to them "No, I can't do something tonight" or "I'll have to leave early to watch a football match"
If you try to organise things a long time in advance, I may say that I'll try to get there, but things do come up.
And yes, I do agree with Dave in that our results aren't inspiring enough to merit going out there. Take the Chelsea game. Normally I would've gotten up at 2:30 for it, but I was really tired and had to work at 5:30. I recorded it and watched it later.
I find that despite my youth I am getting very tired very early nowadays (last week we went out to the city and I had to go home at about 1, tried to stay awake during the viewers choice matches but fell asleep 15 minutes in) but that's more a personal excuse than something in general.
I will say this though, I will put down that I am unavailable to work on May 25, because I think the Rosemont would be a great place to be for the final day, and being on a Sunday would not have music (Went there to watch Adelaide vs Waitakere and they had the commentary on)

It's certainly better than just not rocking up and helps to understand why sometimes people can't or don't want to come out. I think if you were to make a commitment to a few games per season then (although I've said I can't speak for them) I think Paul and Kaye would be happy. In Brisbane we have members that come out every week and some that we just see a couple of times per year - it comes down to a number of things like you've said, sometimes people can't come and sometimes they're just not motivated to as they have other priorities. Try and make a few dates per season where you are a dead cert to make it - I don't think any more could be asked of you.

It may be honest Dave but Michaels attitude is just another reason I couldnt give a fuck if we organised another meet up. Unless people are going to make more of an effort its a total waste of our time. Well excuse me but I have a fucken life outside of Westham to and we do it coz thats what people asked for and now all we get is excuses. OMG I'd rather watch The Bill or meet up with friends. Well fuck you Michael I thought we were friends to.
