Wow did i just say i'd prefer to lose? It must be my part-pommy genes taking over. No Englishman had slagged off the Aussies so why the Pommy bashing? Tricky's initial post was a sorry guys post not a "Australia's fucking shit hahahaaha you lost" post. The dutch game was shameful - there were no excuses - our media gave it to our players and the next game we went out and smashed Pakistan (supposedly one of the best 20-20 sides there are). Personally I'm with Risky - I think 20-20 is a total sham. To me 20-20 is there to attract the american-esque short attention span lets get as many points as we can in as short a space of time as possible mentality fans. England are never going to be a good 20-20 side - they don't have enough big hitters and are far better suited to the patience and intricacies of test cricket. You are always going to have the odd upset because there is far more chance involved than the endurance and skill that is required to take 20 wickets in a test match. I am looking forward to the ashes and the banter on here should be good. 20-20 is certainly not an indicator of how that will go. I am expecting a well fought series which will go close and both teams will be in with a good shot of winning.

Nonetheless, I actually enjoy the T20 for watching a bit of bash that only takes 3 hrs. Sure it's not test cricket and 1-dayers which I also enjoy. Just another form which I can actually watch with my wife rather than discussing the benefits of a forward defensive stroke to my puppy. Also, thought England counties played T20 all the time. I know they play 3 day matches all the time which was why it was suggested they were shit at test cricket. Not really Pommy bashing just lighting the fires for an exciting Ashes series hopefully. T20 also good to watch if 2 teams don't really care about. Can't watch a 1-dayer of that.

I just find it amusing that the only reaction to an embarrassing 2 losses out of 2 was to try and turn it on somebody else. If you wanna go down that road and compare remember you got thrashed by the same West Indies side who lost 20 wickets in the test without England even needing to bat again England have just been smashed by South Africa as I write which shows a huge gulf in class well between South Africa and anybody else. As I said England will never be good at 20-20 and I don't really care much for this format of the game but I'm glad after what was a shameful defeat by Holland we picked ourselves up and at least managed to get into the super 8s. Bring on the ashes!!!!

Bring on the ashes!!!! Funny you bring that up because i seem to recall the Windies doing the same thing to your mob back in February All i can say is i know what most people are gonna remember for a longer time and that is the English loss to a team that had to qualify for the tournament and not the 2 Aussie losses to teams much better suited to that form of the game. I am looking forward to the Ashes though. The last few have been nice and close and this one looks evenly poised and has the makings to be another cracking series. I honestly don't know which way it will go and thats a great thing for cricket in general. I will just lmao if the Aussies retain and the Poms start going on about their lack of preparation because of the Twenty20
