Last night went very well overall. Just one small incident with the young lad learning a perhaps harsh lesson not to get in the yids faces when things go bad for them. This is an example of what will not be tollerated this year - Zero tollerance in fact - we're there to watch West Ham so lets just get on with that. We wouldn't like it if their fans got in our face when we wnet behind to another team. I know his intentions going down there were innocent but just stay away is my advice.

I understand the zero tolerance thing but if what the lad who got thrown out said is true (that a spurs supporter slapped him in the face) then I would expect management to kick out the other guy as well. Same treatment for everyone isn't it?

Scotty whilst I agree with you about the equality side the point is he has gone over to their territory and more to the point out of my sight. If I can't see what has happened then there is little defence for him that I can put forward. What I will do in this case is ask the boro what they saw and ask arj if there's any footage. He will be allowed in next time though and he'll have learnt the lesson not to go down there - possibly harsh but the ground rules are laid out and if that line is crossed then there's little excuse.

Hello Dave,
The West Ham lad was a bit out of order, he was OK cheering with us for a while but then started pointing shouting and swearing at The Spurs fans, one of The Spurs lads came over and said, why don't you just go and watch your own game, I'm not sure if there was a slap, but the West Ham lad started slapping (4 or 5 times) the Spurs lad pretty hard across the shoulder and shouting who are ya, a fight almost broke out but a few of us pulled them apart. To be honest The West Ham lad shouldn't have got right in there faces the way he did, as I wouldn't have been to happy if someone was doing it to me. Hope this helps Dave, and hopefully just a warning will sort him out, but it could have turned nasty.

This is how the boro fans saw it so it's pretty odds on our lad was in the wrong.

Anyhow as I said before he's welcome back next time but he'll have learnt a lesson hopefully. We can't be getting ourselves into this kind of situation - if we do then we can't complain.

That's exactly right! I couldn't give a monkeys about any other team TBH.

If you look at it from Spurts perspective, we're losing to Wigan and one of their blokes comes over giving us verbal, you'd fire up for sure. That's what's happened here.

If you watch our game, nothing happens.

Stay away from the other games, the Pig can not be clearer on the issue.

Tony and I spoke to Kev which was one of the Rangers guys from last year and he couldn't have been more friendly - in fact he found the whole incident quite amusing and was suprised the other bloke still had issues. He said when he sees him he'll tell him to get over it.

I am pleased to note that the Sydney Hammers just don't have this problem. We generally monopolise the venue so that helps but even when we do have others there we do not get this 'element'.

I am pleased to report that the 'blackout that we experienced in Sydney appears to have been a Foxtel problem. Their Viewers' Choice Hotel system was malfunctioning. A real bummer for us but at least we won. I went hope and took a few Sydney Hammers to my place to watch the match.

Also, the OZHammers had a full page feature in the Match Day Programme. Have a look on the OZHammers website in the News section.

If we ever come down for a match we'll see what we can do to liven things up for you mate. ;)

Are those constructive comments??

I think the scale of the pig n whistle is much bigger than that of the Hakoah in terms of different supporters - as you say you monopolise the venue. On match nights you can have many supporters from a multiple of clubs as all 5 Viewers choice games are shown simultaneously and it is THE place to watch football in Brisbane. We have had an influx of younger members recently in Brisbane and many who attend on a weekly basis regardless of an official meet, some (certainly not all) can get a bit shall we say over excited when they consume alcohol and unfortunately I am not able to baby sit 24/7.

We here in Adelaide are in the same boat as Brissy with our venue showing all the avail games, this too me seems to work well as there is a great atmosphere, and although we may not have anywhere near the numbers as Brissy (yet) i look forward to our first get together for the Blackburn game.People will always do STUPID things when alcohol is involved but hey you get that and they are old enough to look after themselves.

You were. It was a new lad - second ever visit. All the usual suspects (including your good self) were very well behaved and I was very satisfied with that.

Overall I was very pleased. The incident was very small and dealt with quickly and positively. The guy will have learnt from it and he will come back next time knowing he has to pull his head in.
