At several of the games last year, numerous events occured which were considered unaccpetable behaviour by the Pig management. Other clubs also had supportres who were taking the piss, so we're not being singled out but it has been mentioned that we are the main repeat offenders. Anyway, the Pig have contacted us and told us what the rules will be for the upcoming season and they are:
1. Don't turn up intoxicated. Anyone arriving to watch a match that is deemed intoxicated by the bouncers will be refused entry. Similarly any drunk disorderly and aggressive behaviour inside the pub is likely to see you get thrown out. There was trouble last season where people who'd been drinking all night in the pub complained about others arriving around kick-off time with a belly full of beer, and getting mouthy.
2. No racist songs or chants. Any racist chants, songs or comments are unacceptable. This caused us a lot of grief last season with a lot of different parties, including some of our own supporters. This will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
3. No fighting. Goes without saying really. Anyone deemed to have started or instigated a fight with oppositon fans will be hit with a ban. This includes getting in peoples faces, bumping people, threatening people, etc. Any aggresive sort of behaviour is off the menu. If someone is taking the Michael and it's starting to look ugly, get in the ear of the floor manager or the nearest bouncer and let them deal with it, that's what they get paid for, even if they've got in your face first. We've nothing to prove to anyone so don't be mugged into anything.
4. Please respect the staff. Some staff made complaints to management last season that they were verbally abused by fans. The staff do a good job at the Pig and have other things to worry about than the football, so please respect this. Also if the staff request us to do something or stop doing something then please respect their wishes.
5. Please respect other patrons. Not everyone in the pub is there to watch West Ham, strange but true, so remember it's not our pub and don't take the piss.
6. Persistent offendors will be banned.
The message is loud and clear from the management at the Pig, fuck up and you're out. Their pub, their rules.
Edit - 17th Aug 08 - Dave
Under no circumstances are any of our fans to go go out of their way to wind up other supporters in another room if things aren't going well for them. A guy was chucked out last night for rubbing it in with the Spurs fans when Boro scored. Sure if you want to laugh about that kind of thing that's your prerogative but do it in your own territory - don't go out of your way to get in the faces of others - in fact don't even go over to the room in which they are playing whilst we're in another room - no need - we're there to watch West Ham. Picture it in reverse - we go behind and someone comes over and rubs our faces in it - we're gonna be pissed off.

About the racist thing, does that mean spurs are no longer allowed to chant 'yid army'. which they did several times last year. I Just wanna know that its gonna apply across the board, no double standards.
Let's worry about us mate. I don't care how they behave to tell you the truth but I do care about us. If the Pig don't like it, they'll ban it. But as I see it it's not in the same league as fucken Jew, or songs about Hitler or the BNP.

Sounds like pretty much commonsense to me. Going to have to go to one of these Brissy meet-ups one day.

To be honest if you think about it yid army is alot closer to us singing bubbles than singing fuckin jew or rather be a paki than a yid or whatever. The point being they are showing a positive support for their team by singing it where as we are being negative or derogatory to others in a bid to wind them up.
But as beggers says let us keep our own house in order. We've been the persistent offenders over the course of last season so lets worry about pulling that into line. Once we've behaved ourselves for 6 months we will have more grounds to complain about others - right now it's a bit like Chopper Read saying he only killed bad people - no one has any sympathy.

Something tells me that will be a lot easier this season

most of that is standard
But of course some is easier said then done, 1am, a few pints under the belt and some idiot in your face for no reason, your going to just want to give a mouthful back.
Just the way it goes sometimes.

True mate, sometimes it ain't easy but we'll deal with it when it happens. We can only try and do the right thing by the Pig and us.

Hmmm people generally don't get in your face for no reason. If it happens you've just got to be big about it and walk away. If some prick just wants to be an arsehole you can always complain about it.
It's common sense stuff really - I don't think anything needs clarifying. I wouldn't worry too much Zane I've never seen you in any trouble anyway so I doubt you're gonna get caught up in anything. People who need to pull their heads in know it anyway and I've been assured that they're gonna do so but as requested by the pig we've put some ground rules out there so people know where we stand and that things wont be tollerated to the degree they were last season.

Yeah that's very true. I think rather than backing each other and joining in with the mouth we help out by steping in and pulling our mates back and tell them to leave it alone. We'll keep each other out of trouble I'm sure and when I'm there I'll keep people in check - it's more when I'm not that I'm concerned about.

Good point, need to check our man if trouble starts, make sure our side doesn't push an issue.
I believe start of season will be full of excitement, but less aggression then end of season, I am looking forward to catching up with everyone honestly and watching a game of football.
I hope to meet some of the members that came to meet ups along time ago. If we keep behaviour in check I do hope they come back out to support with us.
