Nice one Alex. Good to meet you mate. You should tee up with beggers and share transport with each other - we're getting more and more gold coast boys.

Bubbles

Postby bneiron on Mon Aug 18, 2008 10:40 am

Lads...Lads...

I'm forever blowing bubbles
Pretty bubbles in the air
They fly so high
NEARLY reach the sky
Then like my dreams they fade and die
Fortunes always hiding
I've looked everywhere
I'm forever blowing bubbles
Pretty bubbles in the air
UNITED...UNITED

Thgen return to questioning the partentage of the opposition Nbr. 9
It made me cringe a couple of times  [/u]

What were the lads singing then?

And what was the reference to no. 9?
The Pig 'N' Whistle. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious

Is this Denis? I know you were saying on the night it was making you cringe.

There's a few times I've cringed too with a couple of the songs.

When they sing Over land and Sea - it's We all follow the West Ham not we all follow (pause) West Ham. :)

No just a wrong word - "They" instead of "nearly".

Lost in translation I reckon. :)

After research there is half half material saying both versions, can we get a post going to make sure we got this all right?

There is a slight change to the lyrics sung by the Upton Park faithful. The second line's "nearly reach the sky" is changed to "they reach the sky", "Then like my dreams" is also changed to "And like my dreams". In addition the fans begin a chant of "United, United!" to cap it off.

Good find Zane. I was going to say it's a bit wierd cos I've never heard it sung nearly reach the sky in all the years I've been to Upton Park even though the original song words are that.

I assume the words were changed to make it flow better for the faster speed in which the chant is sung than the original music piece.

Over Land and Sea bugs me though - so boys make sure you sing that one correctly.

Altogether now
We all follow the West Ham
Over Land and Sea
We all follow the West Ham
On to Victory!
