I normally watch them at home, but I'm up for getting out occasionally.

I'll email Don tonight and see if they are doing anything and get back to you.

In the mean time people can just post on here their interest and I reckon you go to the Celtic club regardless and meet up for a couple of drinks and watch the game together. :)

I am in. Any opportunity to combine drinking and the Hammers (two of my favourite passtimes) in the one evening is a recipe for awesomeness

I'd just organise a place and a time and go ahead. I emailed Don and it was a bit of a negative on the Melbourne hammers front so it would be good if you guys could get something going.

I have been trying for ages to get some Melb Hammers to arrange meetings and it has been slow going. A couple of guys have renewed interest so hopefully very soon!

If anybody wants to put their hand up to grab Melbourne by the scruff of the neck and become event organiser then please let us know. Don't do so lightly though as it can be alot of work - it involves establishing meetings on a regular basis and can be a slow process to get things going and takes commitment. In our first year or so of the Brisbane Hammers we were getting only a handful of regulars but now we have many. Adelaide have experienced similar outcomes and only the start of last season they were considering whether it was worth it due to low turnouts but now their faith is back and also with help from this site it has enabled them to communicate and arrange things easier.

But there seems a good little core of you keen to get things up and running so things look like you have a good platofrm to start with.

Dave, (and Ors.) I already have a few guys working with each other to make it all work in Melb and I expect them to get back to me soon. There are a couple of venues already identified and hopeful we will get something happening soon.

Pls therefore if there are others here not on my email list, then pls get in contact via the OZHammers web site.

Sure but nothing to stop the guys getting together in the meantime.

I emailed Don the other day in response to the guys' interest here but he didn't seem too enthusiastic. I think the guys should go ahead and meet up for a couple of games and get something going - can't do any harm.

Melbourne meets would be good. I heard you have to be a member to drink at Celtic Club though.

My understanding is that arthur is no longer running the WHUFC supporters group b/c it's numbers dwindled/he did it for ages- nice bloke but he wanted to other things..fair play to him and there is def. a need for a new group even to meet up for games and for drink sessions,i'm a reg. MVFC supporter and there are tons of hammer shirts there.I haven't got the time to run a group personally but a informal pissup or games would be qualuity..qld looks well organised.
