You could try asking DPL to send all Melbourne people on his list of 5000 Oz members an email about trying to set up the Melbourne Hammers Again. See if you can get some replies on who is interested and who is not. :)

How about trying to organise a meet up for the cup tie against Hartlepool?

The Hartlepool game is the only " early " kickoff at 11 40 pm Sat 24 Jan.I believe Setanta have the rights to the FA Cup. Whilst most of us probably have Foxtel we dont have a Setanta subscription.I presume the Celtic Club still does.

Just checked setanta's website WE ARE CONFIRMED LIVE BROADCAST 11 30 PM SAT 24TH JAN.

This gives us 2 weeks to spread the word.

I'm in.

Let me know if you are confirmed for the venue and I'll post something up for you and send out a mass email.

rang celtic club and shes gonna give me a call back. they do have setanta but she doesnt know if theyll show it.
if we could give her some an idea of how many guys want to go, we might have a better chance of them showing it.
she also said something about them not knowing whether they would be open or not?? seems weird for 11:30 on a sat night!

If you call a couple and get one confirmed venue. And I'll post something when you have something concrete, :)

rang all these places recently and they all pretty much told me to piss off, some said they were more focused on the drinking culture and the football is on just as a backgrtound thing and its not the sort of crowd they want at forefront of their business. one said they were more of a "family" sort of eating out place but same deal as the prior. and others said they dont want to upset the other punters by putting the sound on. so Melbourne, we are pretty much screwed for a place to watch.
