hey guys,
Just wondering does anyone ever meet up in Melbourne?
it is always a problem finding a place that will show football, even if you
tell them you are bringing about 10 people down to watch it, you get there and the other patrons start complaining after about 10 mins that replays of the AFL isnt on the telly (have the same problem with away a- league matches). Just wondering if anyone knows a good place or if anyone is organising anything for the coming season?
thanks,
Glenn

Offcial contacts as follows:
Melbourne Supporters
Fash: westham_vic@yahoo.com.au
Arthur: arthurderian@bigpond.com
I don't think they meet up very often if at all. We are getting more and more from Melbourne on here so this is a good opportunity for you guys to set something up for regular meets.
Welcome to the forums BTW.

I was thinking the same thing Dave.
There are more and more newbies from down south on the forum, so maybe we could get something going.
I think The Celtic Club in town is the home of the Hammers Supporters Club. We could join in with them or start up our own if we have the numbers.

You'd be best off meeting with the existing bunch if they are still meeting up regularly. It'd be good to contact them maybe and get them to post details of their meets on here. That's one of the main reasons we started this forum so we can centrally announce our meets and communicate with each other. It's a good opportunity to get Melbourne out a bit more and drum up extra interest. Brisbane has been very active over the last couple of years and Adelaide have really started to get some momentum too.

If you like I can contact them and try to encourage them over here and announce their meets. If I tell them there are a few guys on here from Melbourne they might get more involved. It'd be really good IMO if Melbourne got off the ground this season as it is a major city and I'm sure there are plenty of WHU fans who'd like to meet up on a regular basis.
Edit: There may actually be a different contact called Don Sutherland and I think I have an email for him - I'll contact him and let you know what he says.

So regardless of an existing group, how many guys are thinking about going to watch the first match against wigan? whether it be at the celtic club or elsewhere (they should have a desent crowd at the celtic club, arsenal match starts before ours.) Just want to get a rough idea of how many guys go out to watch the matches regularly.
