Curbs should be sacked.
This would be a new low for us.
No arguments.
Bye bye time.
It would be only 3 games left, the players have obviously given up, Curbs has no ideas, what's the point of him staying.
Even a caretaker manager for the last 3 games would be preferable to this fucking loser. I'm really starting to hate him now. The same drivel he comes out with week after week.
Don't give me this injuries bollox. Crap.
I've had enough.

Who with. And don't tell me Bilic would inspire the team to play for it all although there is nothing to be gained.
New Low? Don't think so. Relegation by definition is lower.
Sorry, can't argue I see.
We gave up weeks ago when nothing to play for.
Injuries? What injuries? Curbs had a full squad to pick from each week.
I expect to beat Derby but lose the rest. Glad Neill didn't play today to stop the Neill haters on here as well.

There's nowhere for you to go this season, you're safe and Europe is out of the equation, you're in the middle of no mans land as Chris has said to me.
Curbs should see out the season, it's pointless getting a new manager now. But as soon as the seasons finished he should be given his marching orders.

Ok, I've calmed down now.....
I was just annoyed cos I didn't even bother watching the game cos I thought Bolton really need the points and we haven't looked like we've wanted to win for ages and the result was so fucking predictable, just like the week before.
I know Curbs should stay till the end of the season, I was just mouthing off. The title was, "If we lose to Derby next week..." It would be a new low, for this season, thats what I'm on about not relegation. It seems every man and his dog can thump Derby 5 or 6 nil and if we lose I'll really feel sick about it. More than any other game.
And no, I don't know if Bilic is the fucking answer either but Curbs and Merv can fuck off at the end of the season and take those loser bunch of physio's with them

I can't see why you lads think there is nothing to play for!
As a club we are safe, but half the squad would be playing for their careers! Of course there would be a few that feel safe, but FFS, the rest have done fuck all this season so how would they be feeling secure?
Curbs should have put them on notice once Europe was out of the question.

From the other thread:
Davros wrote: beex wrote: Quote: Scott Duxbury, the chief executive, recently revealed that there would be no significant signings in the summer. This is the one that grates me. So, we're gonna rely on our famous injury ridden bunch of crocks to all of a suddenly be miraculously fit and at their best when the new season starts. What the fuck are they thinking, they sound clueless. They've been saying all year, "wait till we get our fit players back" and even if they do get back it takes a long time to get back to Premier standard, look at Ashton as an example. I'm not an advocate of just splashing out money but lets hope Nani has some of Svens Europe scouting skills and we get some good, cheap talent in. Chuck out the old guard on their inflated wages and sling Curbs in with 'em and get Bilic to replace him. No significant signings would mean Curbs stays. That article was basically saying there is not going to be a lot of money being splashed around by anyone. Without looking back in detail, didn't Sven spend heaps more than us to buy a whole team of which some were crocks and they are only 1 place ahead of us? And what has Bilic done on the club scene to warrant such desire to have him as a coach. I think a successful club coach is more important as it not so hard to get players to raise their level every once in a while for their country. Week in week out for club is different matter. Agree to look for young talent but need some cool older heads. A full team of inexperience will lead to disaster.
That my friends, is why the players have nothing to play for this season: Job secure for another year so let's wind down and get ready for the end of season piss up.

Call me old fashioned but I really don't mind that much if we lose but we've given it our all. Of course I hate to lose and I want us to win everytime but I feel like the whole team and management have ended the season already.
God we've had some shit teams in the past but I can't remember this lack of heart before and yep I blame Curbs for that. There's enough evidence on old Charlton forums and blogs to back it up.

I don't remember being in this position before with nothing to play for with so many games to go. That may be why you think the current team lacks heart. But there were some games in the lower div when we didn't seem to put in any effort. I don't think any manager could get his team to play with great desire with our current table position. The teams around us aren't doing much either. Tottenham aren't winning games on end. Blackburn and Citeh aren't setting hearts aflutter with their play or results.
I want to challenge for Europe next season and don't know if Curbs is the man to do it but he deserves a chance to start the campaign. Don't see us paying to bring in any quality manager instead with proven club record. Would prefer any/all money go to a play maker in mid field.
Jormatom, are you saying we do or don't have anything to play for. As a team, I say no. Some individuals yes.
Beex, didn't you call for some youngsters to be given a chance for these games as some were last game. If they fail, who do you blame - them, the rest of the team or Curbs?

As a team, nothing but pride - but if you loved the jersey then that would be enough.
Problem is we have a lot of "journeymen" who play for the $$$ and kudos of being EPL players and very few like Noble who genuinely love the club with a passion.
Individually, shit yeah, I think careers should be put on the line.
Ethers, LBM, Freddie, Spector, Bowyer, Gabbs, Camara and co. My mind is too fucked up at the moment to think of others, but these guys showed glimpses but not consistency. Even with injuries, if they got a few starts this season and didn't perform, then they should be told so.
Shit, as an employer, if staff aren't performing you give them a warning.
Like Beexie, I'm too tired & emotional at the moment to think clearly. I stayed up and watched the game and it fucked the rest of my weekend.
Westy5096 is spot on: PRIDE should be enough not only against derby, but it should have been enough against Portsmouth and Bolton as well.
I'm done.

Desperation seems to beat pride most times.
Because Derby also only got Pride, its Pride v Pride. So then skill comes into it. I expect to win this because our Pride is at home and Derby are shit.
Bolton has Desperation. Pompey had Ambition which usually also beats Pride.

Davros,
All good, fair points mate except I don't believe Curbs is the man to start next season. Yeah, I, like a few others on here thought some of the youngsters should be given a go and Curbs (some may argue too late) has given them that chance. I've said it a few times now but here we go again. I'm not anti-Curbs on a personal level. I'm sure he's a luvly bloke and all, I just don't think he's right for West Ham, never have. Ever since he was announced as our manager I've been moaning me bollox off about him. Too negative, just like George Graham. In the end it's about how the team plays for me and I don't like the Curbs way.
