Hope Upson stays, links well with Tomkins. Maybe he'll stay till Jan and see how we're going? Looks like we just need a right back now, we're looking at Lustig apparently http://www.setanta.com//uk/Articles/Foo ... nid-57221/

WEST HAM have completed a double swoop for Inter Milan duo Mancini and Luis Jimenez. Hammers chief executive Scott Duxbury tied up season-long loan deals for the pair, who are worth a combined £25million on the open market.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is an admirer of Brazilian Mancini but West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola used his Italian contacts to land the winger.
Mancini, 28, wants out because of a rift with Inter boss Jose Mourinho. He will also be able to cover at right-back as Lucas Neill looks set to quit Upton Park after rejecting a final contract offer.
Chile striker Jimenez, 25 today, has been pursued by Zola for weeks. Hammers will have first refusal on making the moves permanent at the end of the season.
Mancini, rated at £15m and Jimenez, worth around £10m, are Zola’s first signings after control of West Ham was taken from outgoing chairman Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson and passed to Icelandic bank Straumar. The Hammers chief hopes to be able to land at least one of the Inter pair on a permanent deal next summer but needs to sell to raise cash first.
That is why West Ham have slapped a staggering £15m price tag on defender Matthew Upson.
The Hammers are resigned to losing the England centre-half this summer, with Manchester City favourites to sign him.
Upson, 30, has dropped heavy hints he wants to join a bigger club in the run-up to next summer’s World Cup finals — and his Hertfordshire house is up for sale.
England boss Fabio Capello has also advised Upson he should be playing at the highest level possible to boost his chances of making the squad for South Africa.

England starlet set to choose West Ham over Tottenham Thursday 18 Jun 2009 13:17:00 by Editor
Charlton Athletic midfielder Jonjo Shelvey looks unlikely to join Spurs as he bids for a move to West Ham.
Tottenham have not followed up an enquiry about Charlton Athletic's Jonjo Shelvey after being told the midfielder has his heart set on a move to West Ham, TPC understands.
The 17-year-old was earmarked as one for the future by the White Hart Lane hierarchy but have been told that the Romford-born player would rather hold out for a move to his boyhood idols from the east end than make a switch to Spurs at this stage of his career.
Separate TPC sources at both Spurs and West Ham have confirmed the situation but it remains to be seen whether the Upton Park outfit firm up their own interest in the player, possibly leaving the door open for a late move in the window by Harry Redknapp if he can convince the starlet to change his mind.
Shelvey, who recently represented England in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals, played 16 times for Charlton in the Championship last season and caught the eye with three league goals. But the club’s relegation and financial situation have made a summer sale probable with a £3m price being mooted.

2 very weak transfers
RIO to play 2 seasons at Man Utd then he wants to play back at West Ham until retirement
If Arry signs Downing from Boro then West Ham may sign Beckham on a 30 minutes a match basis so he stays fit for the next World Cup.

Looks like Freddie will end up under Colin Wanker at Crystal Palace after all...I thought he might go to the owls but now we have to hope he goes from strength to strength playing for that cunt

Bryce Moon (RB-Panathinaikos) has also been revisited but could be a ploy to get Neill to sign on.
Moon was targeted in January but nothing came of it. He's currently in some sort of trouble with the law in South Africa after some 'hit and run' car accident he was involved in caused a death.
He's quick and would slot nicely into RB position freeing up Behrami to push forward more.
Whilst his game time has been limited in the domestic Greek Superleague, he has been used in CL games so he could provide some experience to the backline for our EUROPA push next season.

goal.com are reporting Deano to Stoke as he is not travelling with the squad despite other long term injured players like Parker and Behrami travelling.
They are also reporting Nani has done a long term loan deal with Inter for Mancini. Up to the player now if he wants to come.

I signed Mancini, Jimenez, Cambiasso, Gudjohnsen on Football Manager 09'. Couldn't wait....something had to give!
Apart from Jimenez (loan) none of the above (aside from Cambiasso-who I might add plays so well with Parker on FM09 that we beat Chelscum 3-1) will sign. $5million for Gudjohnsen(32yo) IMO is way too much, and Mancini doesn't want to play for us by the sounds of it. I hope I'm wrong and I will accept any criticisms at my pessimistic rant but 4 weeks out from the start of a new season and we've done Fuck all! Ashton looks like he's nowhere near the team! Who've we back up for Cole? Who plays RB if Neill doesn't sign? Have we bumped up Upson's worth by giving him the captaincy only to see him depart in Jan. 2010?
Bryce Moon's in Jail in South Africa ffs!! It's raining in Bad Watersburg!! and Quashie has been spotted at Upton Park!! We're doomed i tells ya!
I'm beginning to think Behrami will play RB with Spector as back up and Faubert back in the squad.(He has apparently been working on his weight issues)
