West Ham FACTS

Postby Tricky71 on Mon Feb 18, 2008 12:18 am

(nt) Post them here and see if they are FACT or FICTION

West Ham Utd has had the least amount of Managers in any clubs history pre WWII

Alan Curbishley 2006 - present
Alan Pardew 2003- 2006
Glenn Roeder 2001-2003
Harry Redknapp 1994-2001
Billy Bonds 1990-1994
Lou Macari 1989-1990
John Lyall 1974-1989
Ron Greenwood 1961-1974
Ted Fenton 1950-1961
Charlie Paynter 1932-1950
Syd King 1901-1932

All English barring Lou Macari who I do not class as one of our managers because of how he was outed.

I think west Ham have had the least amount of managers, of all the "major" clubs period. Macari was Scottish.

We had something like 5 before 1989 or something (I was reading on wiki about 3 hours ago )

West Ham were the last English team to lift an European cup with an all English side. Of the starting 11, 7 were local East End lads.

Not sure about Roeder's connection with the club prior. He didn't play for WHU methinks.

He played against us when we thrashed newcastle like 8-2. He was assistant under Redknapp too from memory.

He was first team coach under Redknapp and was promoted through the ranks by Terry Brown. Also he was born in the east end and his whole family are West Ham.
