I reckon myspace is a piece of shit. Advertisements and rubbish everywhere, the bots trying to add you as friends, you try and have a perve on some nice looking tarts profile and you almost fall off your chair cause her music starts playing at full volume. Nope, not a fan of myspace.

"ave the occasional ruck!"
No offence bret, but I'd say it's a bad idea associating fighting with the Brisbane hammers. Certain members have been in trouble with the Pig before for a bit of push and shove, the last thing we want is for them to read that and it to come back and bite us on the arse.
Sorry if I'm butting in where I'm not wanted here, just tell me and I'll shut up. But if it was my supporters group I wouldn't want us to be known for that, just to keep the peace

Exactly Scotty the whole site is promoting everything I've tried to fucking distance us from over the last 6 to 9 months.
Makes us look like cunts!

It's gonna be hard to say this without it seeming like I'm dissing Brett & his 'bois' but I think it needs to be said.
Brisbane Hammers needs an "out for a ruck" image like a hole in the head.
A group calling themsleves the Brisbane Hammers Loyalists has a real National Front sound to it and we don't need that either.
And this stuff gets to the heart of our troubles at the pig.
We look aggressive. We act aggressive. What we say and sing is aggressive.
In short, any normal person will draw the conclusion that we ARE aggressive.
It's my opinion that some (many?) people who used to come along to Brisbane Hammers meet ups are no longer coming because of the aggression.
The result is the average joe supporter element is diminishing, resulting in the aggressive element now being a larger % of Brisbane Hammers. And aggressive behaviour and talk (eg a myspace page that says we like a ruck) attracts more aggressive people.
Any neutral looking on will see us as a bunch of wankers with attitude looking for a biff.
Dave & I are now getting contacted by the Pig about upcoming games to see if we know who is coming because they might need to put on extra security staff for the night ffs.
That says it all really.
It's line in the sand time.
Wanna talk & act aggressive ? Go somewhere else.
Wanna meet up for a few bevvies, a bit of a chat, a bit of singing and to watch West Ham play in a friendly atmosphere where heaven forbid we might even have a bit of a chat with the opposition fans and maybe a bit of banter flows from that. Then come along to the Pig & be part of the Brisbane Hammers.

Maybe not my place to comment either but I agree with Norven and Dave. I enjoy going to the Pig to watch a match and can usually encourage the missus as well which allows me to drink. If gets aggressive or advertised as such, neither of us will be there.

I might not be a regular contributor any more (thanks to lack of Foxtel mostly) but as one of the trinity of hard working longtime organisers on the Bris Hammers scene I think I've earned the right to speak out on this.
I agreed with everything Dave and Norven said, and then I saw Bret's site - and frankly I've hit the fucking roof on this. Bret - this is not acceptable.
Tony's dead right - I stopped going to games as often because of the aggro. It's just not fun any more and frankly it's fucking embarrassing to see a bunch of ludicrously over-drunken dickheads making utter fools of themselves in public by getting bolshy with everyone not in C&B. I'd be ashamed to wear the C&B if I didn't realise that the club is more important than the wankers and not the other way round.
Genuine hardcore fans are being ostracised because of it and all the hard work that Dave, Tony and I (among others) have done in the last few years will be for nothing. This new site is not only embarrassing, but it uses the logo (and name) that we developed for our own identity when we don't want to be a part of the site at all. By all means have a link to this forum and use the logo as part of the link, but it's not right to just take the logo and use it as your own whenever you want.
Readers, what do you really want? If you want to fight and make trouble, then join up with all the other people who can't handle their booze and go and make trouble - but please don't wear the C&B when you do, and don't associate with people who wear it while you're carrying on like that.
If on the other hand you want to discuss West Ham United and football (and other things) and find like minded people for a few enjoyable pints and the odd game, then stick around.
As far as I'm concerned you can do both if you want but not at the same time - I'd like to be able to wear the C&B with pride.
The best BH game I ever went to was the FA Cup Final against Liverpool. Scouse and Cockney mixed, we sang our songs to one another, we had some banter and rivalry, and we shook hands at the end. You don't have to bash your opponents heads in to be a true fan - in fact maybe that shows a bit of insecurity. If you're a true fan you know they are true fans as well (even if they're misguided) and that they deserve respect for that.
