I know f*** all about it, true!

Ovalish pitch, I think with rugby posts and a goal.

Ex-pats included....is it a game to start following?? Who should I start looking at??

I do not want to be seen as a glory hunter ala Manure/Arse/Chelscum of footy.

Should I stick to the Prem via FOX??

After the foxsports thread I don't want to say too much as I might offend kungfoosing who obviously has a passion for the sport. I'll just say I don't think it is for me.

Obivously when you move to Brisbane you'll have the opportunity to go along to the gabba and watch the lions. Go along and see if you like it.

At risk of being slammed on here, I don't like it as a game but I probably don't understand it enough to be fair. My boss has hammered me for years trying to get me to like it, even paying for me to go to a game. I must admit that live it's more exciting as there's a lot of action that happens off the ball which it's hard to capture on TV. It ain't for me but give it a try and see how you go. My team is the Freemantle Dockers cos they wear purple and when I was young I always wanted an Anderlecht top (also purple, well lilac for the purists) cos my hero was Francois Van Der Elst who we signed from them. I don't really follow it at all but again my boss (a Roos fan) wanted me to choose a team so to shut him up I chose the dockers. Actually, true story. He left the company and moved to Nova Scotia, very remote part of Canada (his wife is from there) First thing he did (before anything else) was install a satellite dish so he could watch the Roos on Fox, I kid ye not!

There aren't really any teams that you would be considered a glory hunter to follow... Since you're gonna be living in Brisbane, the Lions would be a good team to follow. It'd probably be a good idea to either watch some games on TV or go to a few when you're here to get an idea of whether or not you like it. I'd say that its worth at least having a look at, to test the the waters so to speak.

(Just don't listen to Jealous Jenny! :P)

Mate, It is a hard game to understand at first but it can be exciting... I used to be very passionate about AFL when I was going to High School etc.. but nothing beats watching football.

After living in London for awhile and then retuning to Aust. I lost a fair bit of interest and believe the the league is doing everything they can to ruin the game!

I'm a Melbourne Demons fan which has some sort of resemblance to West Ham, the play some attractive football and are good one year then suck the next, have some talented young players . Even years are always being the better one.

Oh and they have the closest colours to West Ham....

So lets hear.. who want's to bag the Demons?

Demons fans are mostly Mecedes or Range Rover drivers that all live in Toorak.

You get a point for missing, thats a plus about AFL. They must have invented the game with uncoordinated pricks like myself in mind.
