Might be a new feature added by the hosts. I've changed it to simple news box for now whilst I investigate. This seems to have added back the last post info. It's a fucked up mod if you ask me!!!

From the support site....

http://forum.freeforums.org/viewtopic.p ... 133#269133

Over the past few hours we attempted to install some upgrades on the v2 system. Although initial testing concluded it was working, parts were enabled by mistake. We will be releasing two mods for v2 this afternoon that you will be able to choose from. One is going to be a recent topic block (defaulted on all v2 forums) and the other is a news block you can set in your admin panel.

While every forum must choose between one of these mods, the recent topics mod will be defaulted as to not cause confusion among users.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

And it's gone!

Looks like they've decided to take it down. I wonder if it will come back - I hope not - it's a shit mod and one you can't remove. You either have to have that really shit latest topic window or the pointless news box.

I've seriously been considering advanced hosting whereby we'd have full control over things like this. Also we would have the ability to import our own mods if so desired.

There's a current offer of $60/year as a special. Also have domain name and DNS to renew in a few weeks @ 30 bucks. So ongoing costs would be 90/year instead of 30 currently costing me for whu-au.com domain and DNS to point it here.

I'm sure some of the regulars wouldn't mind pitching in a few dollars to upgrade the forums... I'm sure there's enough of us that it would require less than $10 from anyone that wanted to contribute
