You make it sound like 30k ain't a lot of money? I know in some football quarters it ain't but that's at an elite level and Lucas, bless him, ain't at that level. We'll never know what he's on but I'm bet Risky's left nut it ain't 60k. Also going to Liverpool don't mean playing in the Champions league, more than likely Lucas would be warming the bench and I don't think that appealed to him at all. Also when he signed we were heading for the CL ourselves in 5 yrs, so Eggy told us. Maybe he believed it? Anyway, looks like he'll be gone soon, C&P from WHO: Lucas Neill has turned down West Ham United’s increased offer of a contract, worth about £2 million a season, and is expected to leave Upton Park. The captain was close to agreeing a new one-year contract to replace his present deal, which expires at the end of this month. The defender has been the subject of interest from Olympiacos recently. He would prefer to play for a big club to maintain his form and ensure his place in the Australia squad for the World Cup finals next summer. West Ham are unlikely to raise their offer, which is worth £500,000 more than they had been initially willing to offer. Neill broke West Ham’s wage structure, earning nearly £70,000 a week, when he joined from Blackburn Rovers 2 years ago. The club have since cut spending but they are expected to try to sign two forwards and a reserve left back this summer. They had hoped to agree a longer deal with Robert Green, who was looking to increase his £28,000 a week wage. The goalkeeper, who has three years left on his contract, has stopped pushing for an increase

Whatever Lucas was/is on, i'de rather that go towards Green to get him on a new contract. Don't get me wrong I like Lucas, but he is a lot easier to replace than Green.

Neill did lift for the second half of this season, but before that he was absolute crap. As well as he is playing now & his captaincy positives, I don't think he is worth what they were paying him, let alone an increase. And he is still a penalty risk all the time. Green is an absolute priority & we need leftovers to enter the market for some quality, not has-beens as has been done previously (although not by Zola & co).

Would love to see Lucas hacked down in Greece. I really don't like him...sorry lads.
Piss him off, keep Green and have some spending money left over.

I really didn't like him either, always galloping up the field and getting caught out and Behrami saving his arse but that was earlier in the season. I think he really knuckled down and did well in the second half of the season. I don't think he's worth 60k a week (if he's on that?) and if it was a straight choice between him and Greeno, then it would be, "bye, bye, Lucas". Remember this is the off season, we're gonna get linked with just about everyone, we have an uncertain future as far as the sale of our club goes and the press have been on our backs with shite stories trying to de-stabilise us ever since the Tevez saga. This is the rollercoaster world of West Ham, hold on tight 'cos you never know what's really gonna happen

Let him go. All accounts, Gabbidon is fit and firing again. If this is the case would fit in nicely in Lucas's spot.

Gabbidon?! Bwahahaha.
Hasn't played for 2 years. Isn't a RB and wasn't brilliant anyway.
I'd rather Faubert and I don't want him either.
