So its official.

West Ham United can confirm that Fulham have signed Bobby Zamora and John Pantsil in a combined £6.3m deal that could rise by a further £1m depending on appearances.

Zamora has signed a four-year contract and Pantsil has a three-year deal. The west London club made their approach last week and the two players were granted permission to enter into discussions with a view to a permanent move. Both then agreed personal terms and passed medicals ahead of the announcement. The decision to let Zamora leave was influenced in part by the fact Alan Curbishley has plenty of options in attack, including Dean Ashton, Craig Bellamy, Carlton Cole and Freddie Sears along with the support play of Kieron Dyer and Luis Boa Morte.

Plenty of options in attack! 1 Injury and a slight knock and we're fucked up front! Sad to see Zamora go as well as Pantsil, who had seriously grown on me.

Also i've not seen anything on this Behrami guy, about signing him or anything. It's not official til i see it on the WHUFC website.

As for Neill i dont think he's going anywhere. I Heard he wanted to finish his contract with WH (expires in 12 months from memory) and then head back to Australia. Not sure entirely.

I hope we don't get rid of Neill, he was solid last season. Interesting that we have Behrami now, that means the right side is covered. Just need that creative spark in the middle and we're sorted.

The right side looks alright :D

Don't forget Faubert can also play at right back, although I prefer to see his "mongrel" in midfield or up front.

each to their own but I thought he was often poor last season...seems to think he's a wing back, goes marauding forward, turns it over cheaply and quickly and then didn't have the pace to get back.

It's possible he'll be played in the centre and that could be a good thing as he'll have to stay put.

Personally I would rather Anton/Upson as a CB combo.

Welcome to the forum btw :)

Think we should hold onto Lucas and definately give him a go in the Center of Defence, does a great job for the Aussies there and he has still got a lot to offer us at westham IMO.

Yeah, I reckon he plays better there and centre halfs don't tend to maraud as much (as Lucas does when he's at right back) So if Anton goes maybe it'll make sense?

this will light Dave's fuse...from the official site

"The decision to let Zamora leave was influenced in part by the fact Alan Curbishley has plenty of options in attack, including Dean Ashton, Craig Bellamy, Carlton Cole and Freddie Sears along with the support play of Kieron Dyer and Luis Boa Morte."

Bobby's gone but that's only because we've got LBM...

People imploring us to give Curbs a chance should cast their mind back to when LBM got himself petulantly sent off against Sp*rs but Curbs rushed him straight back in after the 1 match ban and it wasn't cause we were bare bones..Bobby played in the 2-1 defeat of Blackburn while LBM was suspended then back to the bench for you Bob, I've got super Luis available again. Not to mention blind fucking freddy could see LBM was about to get himself sent off but Curbs did fuck all about it..

That one event alone should be enough to hang Curbs out to dry on. Local boy or not he's a clueless, overly conservative, unimaginitative manager who wouldn't know what entertainment was if it bit him on the ass.

NM, chill Winston! Transfer season ain't over yet so we might have a new striker before the start of the season. And there's always the 17yr old just signed that Davros seems to think will be running on.

There are 6 other names mentioned not just LBM.

LBM did get himself sent off, which was stupid, but from memory, at that stage we had already had 2 guys replaced through injury leaving us with only one sub left. Given that we had 2 or 3 players back from injury and with no game time, having some fresh legs later in the match seemed crucial. It was minutes till half time so it wasn't unreasonable to try and see the half out, save the sub and get the lads into the sheds. But it wasn't meant to be. I know most blame the manager for not getting LBM off but I can see where he was coming from.

As for the manager, if you blame him for everything bad, he must therefore be praised for anything good.

He saved us from certain relegation with a 7 in 9 run that I doubt will ever be bettered. Should have a statue put up for him for that alone!

As for the season, I thought the manager did a terrific job under the circumstances. He guided the side to a credible 10th place while having to deal with a double digit injury list all season and with absolutely no continuity to the team. Pretty good achievement IMO. Even the mighty O'Neill couldn't have done better and as for Ramos, the game after their Carling Cup win he rested several first team players and were tonked 4-1 against Birmingham. Wonder how Spurs or Villa would've done all season with a similar injury problem?

We beat Man U again and Liverpool for the first time since I don't know when, not excatly boring or clueless.

Curbishley, unfortunately, IMO is doomed. The first run of loses we get, most will be calling for his head and with BG seemingly tightening the purse strings any replacement manager is likely to be an Alladyce, Hoddle, type. Better be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

Personally I've issue with BG and the club in general at the moment. You never hear from the man and the club is deathly silent these days. All talk of new training facilities and new ground have just stopped. We're linked with no-one and the only talk is negative. The club seem oblivious to the supporters concerns and do nothing to alleviate them.

I know you and many won't agree with me but I don't think Curbs has done anything to deserve some of the viscious stick he gets. I doubt he'll ever get us into Europe, but I'm used to that so what's new, but he won't get us relegated either. Nothing wrong with 10th, shit how often have we ever been top 6. FFS it's as if a top 6 spot was a regular event for us.

I've said it before, if the clubs ever to progress they have to spend a shed load of cash on a big name manager and players and that's down to BG. IMO, he's the one I'm not impressed with so far, he does and says fuck all.

The Munky is a wise sage, Jorm.
There's actually quite a lot of people on here that were/are unhappy with Curbs but perhaps only we got out of hand with it
I'm giving him a chance, see how he goes, maybe if he does get the chop Nani will just step up? Would love Bilic but I think he'll stay with Croatia. Let's see what happens.
(Fuck, I sound balanced, what's going on??) ;)
