How is this for a replacement for Freddie?
Hammers Join List Of Pennant Admirers
Despite starting a Champions League final, Jermaine Pennant hasn't quite cut it at Liverpool. He has however, got a list of admirers, and West Ham United have emerged as a potential suitor...
Liverpool's wideman, Pennant, 25, has been frozen out of Anfield affairs due to last summer's acquisitions of Ryan Babel, Yossi Benayoun, and Dirk Kuyt. In order to find first-team football again, he would need to move away from the Mersey.
Aston Villa are believed to be interested, so to was Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth, and Blackburn Rovers are also thought to be keen. Newspaper reports even linked Newcastle United with a bid, but it is the East London club at Upton Park who may back up their interest with an official bid.
If Alan Curbishly were to move for Pennant, he would be an immediate replacement for the recently released Fredrick Ljungberg.

I'd be happy with Pennant.

Some inside information from you from Scott Duxbury, we are now focusing on 2 potential players to replace Freddie, the 1st one believe it or not is bringing back Yossi and for a million less than we sold him for good buisness if you ask me, and the 2nd person we are linked with is Alan Smith this has come about in the last 48 hours with current injuries it is believed that because of his versatility in mdifield and also upfront he would be a good cover player.
I will be watching the transfer news closely to see wether this source is reliable!

Yossi - Yes (even though he did a Judas, everyone deserves a second chance)
Smith - No (don't rate him. has moved from club to club trying to get a game. we can do better)

I agree with you about Smith but i also feel he is a damn sight better than Carlton cole and i certainly dont see Boa morte as an answer i think them too as well as Quashie were the worst buys Curbs made, were also still linked with Bresciano but that has been bantered around abit for over 6 months now so i dont see that materializing.

My brother in law works in the commercial department and is very good friends with Scott, Hence the knowledge that Curbs has 10 games to save his job which also has been made aware to Alan.

Fuck, is that the best we can do?
Pennant, fucking mouser reject and another one trick pony.
Smith, another Leeds has been and where are all those players from mighty Leeds now? Jog on Smithie.
And Yossi, he'd be ok but many will not forgive him but I would if he returned. At least he's class, the other two are planks and wouldn't improve the team one bit IMO, very average players.
Keep looking Nani.

We are seriously scapping the barrel with these muppets. Although Yossi who on his day is mustard does he deserve to wear the claret and blue ?Why would he want to suddenly play for us now ? Should our desperation for a creative player mean we want to pay players a lot of money for not a lot of loyalty ???

So beggers and Abbotsford what are you expecting? Kaka?
I think Pennant would bring good balance to our side. Yossi is class and think a few people would swallow their pride after he's done the goods for us although I don't really think he is going to come to us anyway.

Dave they're nothing players mate and we've already a squad of 'em. It shows a distict lack of ambition IMO and we have to do better than these mugs if we want to improve and I thought that was the idea? If all are happy with 10th, bring'em in. And as for Ben Thatcher, I'm starting to get that twitch like inspector Dreyfess in the Pink Panther movies.
